Hi, I’m Arlene! 

I’m a hair-obsessed artist based in Mountain View, CA and the owner of The Strand Studio—a cozy, welcoming space where great hair and good energy come naturally. With 14 years behind the chair, I still get excited every time I help someone feel confident, refreshed, and radiant. I’m L’Oréal Professionnel trained, an extension specialist, and fully devoted to creating custom lived-in color and beautifully blended hidden beaded rows. Think effortless brightness, seamless grow-out, and hair that looks—and feels—amazing.

Personalized service is at the heart of everything I do. When you sit in my chair, we’ll chat about your hair history, lifestyle, and long-term goals so we can make a plan that truly fits you. Whether you’re dreaming of fuller, longer hair, soft dimensional color, or a simple refresh, I’m here to bring your vision to life.

Outside the salon, I’m a newlywed (wedding planning was no joke), four years sober, and a proud dog mom to my mini poodle and chocolate lab. I’m a homebody who loves a good murder-mystery or self-help book, and I’m a total reality-TV enthusiast—The Real Housewives, Survivor, The Challenge… I’m watching them all. I also never miss a 49ers game. Sundays are for football, snacks, and relaxing with family.

Fun fact: I’ve lived in the Bay Area my whole life… and still haven’t made it to Alcatraz. One day!
